Review of the quality and standards for Chiran Tea
The Distribution Division of the Chiran Green Tea Association organizes the Common Examination of Standard Retail Tea Event to improve the product and its display. It also reviews the quality and standards of retail tea sold under the unified name of Chiran Tea three times a year to improve the quality and consistency of tea retail sales.
This time, Mr. Sato, technical adviser, and Mr. Hamasaki, general manager of the Tea Division of the Kagoshima Prefectural Institute for Agricultural Development, were asked to check the production of the summer period on July 24, 2018.
They gave scores based on the following criteria: appearance, fragrance, color of water, and umami to two categories of tea, one sold 1,000 yen per 100 g (45 points), the other sold 500 yen per 100 g (25 points). They determined the quality of the tea according to an overall evaluation.
In the review session, they said workers made tea of good quality for the customers by capitalizing on the characteristics of the best cultivars. They also encouraged the workers to make the tea a safe and secure "natural healthy drink" and to promote tea that consumers are looking for.
We will continue to improve the level of "Chiran tea" and offer delicious tea to consumers through our brand establishment! "Chiran tea" makes the best use of the characteristics of abundant cultivars. Its appearance is bright deep green, the color of the water is deep light green, its taste is rich with umami and its fragrance has a deep aroma.
