About this Matcha

The name of this product 'Orizuru' means a folded paper crane. 'Origami' is the traditional Japanese art of folding paper to make models of plants, animals, daily-use tools and amongst others. Japanese people make paper cranes especially when they make wishes come true.
Since ancient times, the old Chinese proverb "cranes live for 1,000 years, turtles live for 10, 000 years" has been often used in Japan. Crane has been regarded as a symbol of longevity.

We named this matcha 'Orizuru (paper-folded crane)' so that the world will be able to overcome COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible while all our customers can touch and feel one of Japanese cultures at home. (We will enclose a paper crane folded by our association members. Please enjoy it.)
