Visit of Givaudan SA in Chiran

In October 2016, several members of the Board of Swiss company GIVAUDAN SA visited the area of Chiran to learn more about the world of Japanese green tea and its production process. During their tour, they had of course the chance to drink many cups of sweet Chiran sencha. They had the opportunity to visit several tea factories in Chiran area, talk directly with producers, understand the differences between the various kinds of green tea, and have a look at the tea wholesale market of Kagoshima.

The Board members were greeted by the Mayor of Minami-Kyushu in one of the beautiful Samurai houses that are being carefully kept in pristine condition, and could enjoy the magnificent view of the entire Chiran tea field area from the top of Mt. Odake.
