Experience-based program of Japanese green tea
Experience-based program, such as picking and having Japanese green tea was held at two tea farms in Ei and Chiran of Minami-kyushu City on April 6th and 9th, 2020
At a tea farm in Ei, a lesson of brewing green tea, comparing tea cultivar tastes and blending tea was held by a coordinator of Chiran Tea. At Chiran, the participants enjoyed picking tea leaves by hand, covering the young leaves by light-proof screen after the observation of the tea factory.
As an optional tour, they had tempura and soba made with green tea at lunch in a Japanese-style restaurant. In addition, a lesson of brewing green tea with a Japanese green tea instructor was held in the tatami room at Bukeyashiki, a samurai house.
Despite the busiest season for tea farmers, they got motivated by favorable comments of the participants. We will plan similar programs in near future, please join us next time!
