“Chiran Tea” website invited new customers from Europe!

A Swiss couple came to visit Minami-Kyushu City, which they had discovered through this website. Their family runs a tea shop in Switzerland and they wish to do direct business with distributors from Minami-Kyushu City from now onwards.

The couple was first greeted by the Division of Tea Industry Promotion of Minami-Kyushu City Office. Afterwards, they visited the Chirami Tea Production Factory and the JA Ibusuki Chagyo Center.

They also got to experience the finishing process of tea production at the Hatanosato Midori center in Agriland Ei, a natural park with wind turbines. They told us that the view from Mt. Ohnodake was so amazing that it even surpassed the Lavaux region in Switzerland, designated as a “World Heritage”.

The couple ended their experience by purchasing a large quantity of tea. From this point forward, we are looking to attract more foreigners to Minami-Kyushu to  expose them to the exceptional Chiran Tea. As such, we are looking to prepare activities where they can see the tea production and meet the manufacturers in person. Through this, we hope to make Chiran Tea known to the rest of the world.
