Chiran Annual Tea Machine Contest
10 teams joined this year’s competition!
On June 28th, 2018, Minami-Kyushu held its annual Green Tea Harvest Machine Competition in a tea field in Shioya in Chiran-cho. 300 people attended the event, including the City’s top management, the family members and colleagues of producers. The number of people attending were much more than last year, that motivated all the competitors and the participants enthusiastically cheered the contest.
10 teams joined this year’s competition. There were two different classifications; Container-type machine and Bag-type machine. The machine traveled 2-rounds at 100m-long of green tea tree ridge. Machine operators competed to show their driving techniques and skills for picking tea leaves.
